Not sure why my previous thread was locked? It was a genuine bloody question.

Where do you guys suggest getting a BF3 instant key cheaply?

I have seen the premium pack go for £32... Which includes all expansions. But this won't be a online key, so will have to wait.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Mods, at least give a reason for locking/closure. Otherwise people will make the same mistake twice. Not hard.

Exactly, OcUK sell the game so it is against the rules to give you a price elsewhere for this game.

Base model, not the full pack.

And please, their rules on this matter change daily. It's a daft rule if you ask me. Understandable for PC hardware and the likes, but games?

There is no reliable way to buy Battlefield 3 cheap, its bloody EA! :p A VPN is your best bet I think. Besides OcUK have the best prices on retail games from what I've seen, and I personally prefer retail to download for obvious reasons, not that I've bought anything physical for about a month (or whenever Max Payne came out). :p

Oh wait no, bough Shogun 2 + Fall of the Samurai for £15. :p

It's fine to talk about purchasing games from other etailers on these forums, it says so in the rules.
I did only find this out yesterday.

CJS Keys are usually nice and cheap.

You can buy the BF3 russian edition, and download the english language pack. Cost me £15.00. For standard edition mind.

I've been using the Russian Limited Edition one since it was released on CJS Keys. FYI works brilliantly, gets my vote.

Yea, like I said, they change randomly.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am a odd ball. What do you expect? I am like Edward Scissor hands. Unpredictable!

OCUK pricing for BF3 is VERY nice, including the free shipping, but I want to play asap haha (if I would have ordered yesterday for retail... I would have it haha. Sods law eh?).

Cheers :)

Does it connect to UK servers? Is it nothing more than just the language pack thats effected?

Just the language, which is resolved in less than 2 minutes via a one off registry change for the language and a copy of the English language files.
What happens is, most BF3 patches wipe the language files back to normal (Russian) but CJS Keys always have the files ready to download and copy back to the directory and tbh i've just kept a copy of the language files aside for the next time it happens.
It's no problem and easy to do.

I think a really important question about Battlefield 3 is can you play it without Origin? Its putting me and several others I know off buying it. :(

What are the reasons for not wanting to use Origin for it?
It's only there to download and install it, it just sits there doing nothing on my PC. I still use Steam for everything else.

I really don't want it on my computer, and Battlefield 3 isn't enough to make me get it. There are plenty of good FPS out there I'd just love to experience this one too, but if a game isn't on Steam I won't buy it, the only reason EA don't put it on there is because they don't ever want to sell it for a discount price.

That isn't me hating on EA per se, just the legitimate reason why I wont get it unless Origin isn't mandatory. I don't need the game it'd just be nice.

I was the same, but I played it on the 360 a fair amount, so wouldn't mind sessions online playing it 'properly' on the PC :)

Hmmm, so basically, a hotel meaning I can stay out and have a legendary night on Friday, or BF3... Which one? lol
