Battlefield 3 - Remastered

BFBC2 was pinnacle, I dunno why they are remastering 3? I'd still be playing BFBC2 if they hadn't have switched off the ranked servers, it's just ruined now. Also it's so old I lost my Key & account and it's £17 on steam and £14 on CDkeys... lol
 
Battlefield went downhil after 1942 and Battlefield 2 (the original not the new one)

EA are notorious for shutting down mods.

Project reality ran for ages, as did the other BF2 Mod that wasn't quite as hardcore as PR. EA changed the way servers were supplied whereby after BF4 it was all their end with no administrative rights and you could only play vanilla game. EA owning the servers so clans couldn't host their own was where it all went wrong. Couldn't do anything about hackers or tweak the game to say, remove all vehicles for infantry only, or remove over powered weapons such as no noob tube, no sniper. DOnt remember EA actively shutting down any mods. Got any links to a game they did? More player base and independent hosts not affording to run servers for an ever decreasing player base. I'm sure @labbby on here used to run a BF4 server.............thems were the days, when you could adjust the vanilla game to make it more interesting. NOw just presets by EA hosted servers. Bring back modded games - as it's where all the best games come from. PUBG, DAYZ, Squad, post scriptrum and I imagine many others.

Really looking forward to Sunday for this release. From what the PR guys have turned out in the past from mods and how good Squad is, cant see them making a hash of a BF3 reboot. All their mods have been good, even squad in pre-alpha was more playable than AAA games released these days.

Be interesting to see how those with BF3 have their origin accounts changed so the mod wont run by EA like you say. EA are dead as is the battlefield franchise due to the last 3 attempts. BF2 mods were better than BF2 base game. PArticularly PR and the other one I can never remember the name of.

I love BF3 and loved Project Reality but that is one seriously half-arsed trailer right there. Hilariously over dramatic music for very underwhelming gameplay footage.

If i knew nothing of project reality i would assume its just a no hud mod with extra suppression blur.
 
Anyone ever able to fix the recoil stuttering issue in BF3? Just booted it up and the problem still exists. 9 years later....
 
From the info they released today on their discord, this mod will suck:

no anti cheat - will be implemented at a later date
sniper optics have no glare
cannot lean
no mortar
no drones
no commander
no progression system
no unlocks
increased weapon recoil
slower run speed, stamina system
no tanks or jets


and other bad stuff

Are you running a system where core parking is relevant? BF4 gets stutter in some stuff like that on my circa 2013 era Windows 7 gaming system unless core parking is disabled.

No parked cores. Turns out, the mod will fix this anyway.

This is my last 'gaming' PC I'm building, 3090 w/ 9900k and to be honest, games are just not good anymore. I'm tired of constantly being let down. So I'm just going to milk this PC for as long as it'll last (a damn long time) but frankly, nothing excites me anymore from the AA/AAA scene. It's all utter ****.

no anti cheat - will be implemented at a later date - servers will probably have admins so hopefully easy to get one until anti cheat added. USed to be punkbuster.

sniper optics have no glare - glare added for people who cant see.
cannot lean - hmmm ok
no mortar - good
no drones - good
no commander - awesome
no progression system - awesome - all start with same weapons
no unlocks - good
increased weapon recoil - more realism
slower run speed, stamina system - good
no tanks or jets - tanks are OK but jet whoring made original boring. I preferred the infantry only servers anyway.
