Battlefield 4 Graphics problem

If you have Ambient Occlusion OFF, and is still crashing, blame EA. You are not alone.

Is the card overclocked at all?

try putting the core @950 and drop the memory by 100mhz, check on bf4 and report back.

Not overclocked, just downloading some asus software to do this.

Just turned it off and all seemed to be well for 5 mins then got the RED screen of death :(

Looks like the memory on the card could be broken to me from looking at that video but does it happen in any other games ?

Battlefield 4 is still quite buggy atm so its hard to judge :p

I get exactly the same problem on my R9 280x Toxic... artifacts and stuff at standard clocks the card ships with... i removed the beta drivers restarted windows put its own drivers in and not a single bit of artifacting on my desktop taskbar or when playing BF4 although the game crashes shortly after starting. Reinstalled the beta8 drivers no crashes but get artifacts even on my taskbar in windows. Can unstable drivers cause this problem??

Oh and ive played crysis 3 at max settings for hours with 0 artifacts although taskbar flickers on and off still. Might go back on crysis for a bit see if it happens but i dont get many artifacts sometimes on BF4 sometimes it goes nuts

Thinking about it i had the beta 7 drivers on cus i got my card last monday everything was completely fine and stable, but beta 8 on and thats when it started artifacting all over the place

no just seems to be BF4 but not really tested any other games as its a fresh install and a new card (well secondhand from MM)

Hi willis, sorry to hear about this. Whilst using the card on the BF beta i never experienced any problems. What psu do you have and hows it connected? Any adapters??

Its running on a XFX Pro 750W so should be fine

Memory issue I'm guessing as in parts (at around 8 seconds in the water) you have the long black lines/polygons which I know for a fact is gpu memory related.

Yes it should.

Do you have gpu tweak installed?? Have you tried a little voltage bump? Or select the S preset (think its S, should be 1,2,3,4,S,G)

Try what you can and if the problem persist's i'll re-open the MM thread so we can sort it out. Try every game and anything you can, different driver etc, ASUS can be a PITA

Ok will try it as just installed GPU tweak. I installed COA War Fighter and that seem to run fine in single player mode. Battlefield 4 single player also seems ok but did notice a few very small glitchy bits but nothing like the multiplayer version.

Any drivers you would recommended for Windows 8.1?

No idea about which driver bud, just a different one. Bf4 has been running **** since full release for me, i found the beta better.

Well I've clocked the memory and memory volt core down and seems to be running ok, not sure if it's a fault with the card ?

I had that on the 7990 card that i had last week. it seemed okay at stock but soon as i overclocked it i would get those kind of artifacts in far cry 3 and other games... Sent it back.. Got a different card.. Overclocked it and no issues at all.

Possibly a fault, yes or just weak memory.

Is this correct, i cant remember

Core 1100 @ 1250mv
Mem 1650 @ 1600mv???

Have re-opened mm thread, so any questions directly for me, please post there, will also keep an eye on this one.
