Offtopic slightly but ;) it is good mate. I chose the upgraded Hardware BlackIce 240 SR1 and it didn't fit with the Matrix Platinums. Manually changed to an XPSC slim rad. Very easy to install and came prefilled. Had to drain it to change the rad though. Also cut the tubing slightly for my diddie case. Piccie here

Temps are idle at 28ish and doesn't go above 60 loaded. I would recommend it tbh
 
Games running @120 fps for me without server crashes so clearly DICE have fixed the game somewhat. I'm running a mix of high and ultra with 2xFXAA.

Lol, yep bit off topic mate. Looks good in your setup. Currently on a k2 air cooler here. Temps in games are fine at 65c max. However the chip hits the mid 90's under prime etc. Also the fathom would allow me access to a better pcie slot so i could reuse my xonar DX sound card.

pretty decent temps guy im on ts with now hes got the 4770k bundle at 4.6 close to your temps so good work.

I think this can be changed in the settings. Hold or Click to sprint? Also works with steady scope and crouch etc? Could be wrong...

My temsp aren't as good as super watercooling me thinks. I also have a 4930k and not a dredded Ivy that needs delidding ;)

@setter, I would recommend it mate but nothing will be as good as delidding it... assuming you haven't already?

Back on topic, anyone fancy making my a new BF4 Emblem? I might have some free games from the AMD Gold ticket if it turns out to be awesome...

Didn't take too long to do, the batman logo will take a fair bit longer :(

Followed this tutorial although used a few different things etc. as they were easier to fit and left out a couple of layers i.e. the half gloss layer.


Would have finished it much quicker if I locked the other layers/objects, kept selecting other layers and changing their size, position etc. :o
 
I barely save anything to local drives anyway, store them all remotely on my networked hard drive. Leaves all my machines pretty much empty.
 
I stupidly installed BF4 on my OS SSD drive (still 33GB free afterwards).
I should have just uninstalled BF3 from my gaming SSD and put it there.

I have a 60GB SSD for long loading games and a 1TB normal drive for Steam and other games.
2TB HDD for storage and 120GB SSD for OS.
 
These are the instructions for fixing the crashes. They really seem to help (it has not crashed since).

As per the link I did the below (but not the Net 4.5 instal or the kBoost fix)


Go to the BF4 folder in .\origin games\Battlefield 4\ Open ._Installer\directx\redist Right click on DXSETUP.exe and click "Run as Administrator"
What this does is install the DirectX libraries that were copied to your hard drive but never installed that are needed for DirectX to properly process the game code.

I know three people personally that was having the crashing all the time, I had them do this, rock solid.

If your CPU has the option of Hyper Threading, disable it. Don't argue just try it and compare, this shouldn't help with the game crashing but damn will your game be hella smoother. (This is done in the BIOS, if you are using Windows 8 Google how to restart into your BIOS).
Create a user.cfg (then edit with notepad) config file in the Battlefield 4 folder and then paste this within the file:

Hating it personally, graphics are nice enough but I stop caring about them aslong as they are adequate once actually in an MP game. MP works ok mostly for me but the hit registry is beyond abysmal all in all without going into a massive rant IMO its a steaming pile of excrement and the only reason I'm playing it is that somehow inexplicably they managed to do even worse with COD: Ghosts infact its making me want to go back to play MW2 even let alone COD4.


(EDIT: To be fair my play style is very very demanding on reliable "netcode" with it I rock, without it its just an exercise in frustration).
 
Where is the cheapest place to get this game right now?

Also, I'm currently running Win 7. Is there any point in going to Win 8 for this? Is it just a performance advantage or are there new features enabled when running W8?
 
I've spent the past 2 hours playing and get a good run on a server and then CRASH!!!
Start again on another server and then CRASH!!!!
