Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

What a waste of peoples money and time.
I got a questionnaire email from EA asking how likely I would recommend BF4 to friends etc........
I answered 'Very Unlikely' as the game was a bag of 'DOG ****'
 
So after a lot of experimenting tonight... I have a relatively low ping ~12ms anyone with a lower ping than myself I never have a problem hitting at all and will constantly beat them over and over again 1 to 1 (they complain I'm hard to hit reliably) - anyone with more than about 5ms higher ping than me I struggle to get hits on and above +10ms I might as well not even bother coz only a small proportion of hits register with any consistency.

Guess I'm gonna have to start playing via a proxy or something to bump my ping upto 100ms (connection has way too much bandwidth/qos to be able to saturate it and raise ping that way).

As per the link I did the below (but not the Net 4.5 instal or the kBoost fix)


Go to the BF4 folder in .\origin games\Battlefield 4\ Open ._Installer\directx\redist Right click on DXSETUP.exe and click "Run as Administrator"
What this does is install the DirectX libraries that were copied to your hard drive but never installed that are needed for DirectX to properly process the game code.

I know three people personally that was having the crashing all the time, I had them do this, rock solid.

If your CPU has the option of Hyper Threading, disable it. Don't argue just try it and compare, this shouldn't help with the game crashing but damn will your game be hella smoother. (This is done in the BIOS, if you are using Windows 8 Google how to restart into your BIOS).
Create a user.cfg (then edit with notepad) config file in the Battlefield 4 folder and then paste this within the file:

By the way xfactor gaming suggested running at 10% on the BF4 network smoothing settings. That seems to help my lag and hit detection...give it a try guys. Like I say I have played 4 hours since the above mods and it still has not crashed. I will keep you guys posted. The config setting (or the core unparks) are making the graph of GPU usage much smoother, and taking away the big spikes. This makes it feel loads smoother as the games is maintaining a more consistent frame rate.
 
The game seems to play fine most of the time, just get a bit of rubber banding in vehicles sometimes.

I havn't logged many hours i'm waiting for a few more fixes to be implemented so i don't start to hate the game :D
 
All this tweaking and fixes are pointless! EA have said there are server and client crashes, which they aim to fix. Besides as proven, they are randomn. You can play for days and crash or 5mins. Wait till ea release server side r8 patch and client then go from there :)
 
I've not had much trouble in about 10 hours of play. Maybe 3 crashes and i think they were down to an unstable OC. I must just be lucky.

It's odd that not everyone is experiencing the same issues. I found the first few servers i played on to be really smooth and had no problems. It's only recently i have noticed some rubber banding or lag or whatever they are calling it and that was in an attack heli and a tank. Other than that no issues.

I assumed it would be server issues with perhaps some not rolling out updates as quick as others, just speculation though.
 
I used to read posts crying about admins on here and just think leave the server, it's not hard, but then I ran into this phag yesterday. He added me after a few decent runs of TDM and said that he's reporting me to EA for ignoring an 'admin' because I had chat hidden. He then got upset because I told him to **** off, and then proceeded to talk down to me like he was my dad, clearly in his 30's.

What's the issue with these self-righteous losers? Why do they get so upset?

LOL. There are some moron Admins out there for sure and he's one of them. Reporting you for not having chat ON. Yeah good luck with that Report...lol.

On the flip-side there's hundreds of ass players for every bad admin.

I have it on 0, mind you my ping on UK servers is 7 or 8.

I also have had almost no crashes in the time i've played it, Though i still get a crash when the Shanghai tower comes down..... :mad:
