it did on cod 4 for a sec ,mass effect seems fine upto now...but my old card the 4890 was ok nps atall....i recieved this one yesterday and having a few probs i just wanna make sure its not my setup or pc if i can sort it today if not ill format pc and see in case its a driver issue..if its the same ill speak to a tech on tuesday see if they have any ideas its vapor x 5870 oc edition thanks.

Try the 10.3b, or even 10.1 / 10.2.

i have already used older drivers still getting the same problem...but i put my old 4890 back in it works fine no probs atall so really apart from it being faulty which i will not know until tuesday when i speak to overclockers i am just trying to eliminate things 1 by 1 and i think my next step is a format of my pc lol
hey mate i had the problem with the game, im using a 4870, 10.3 cat. on windows 7
I thought i had the memory on my athlon x4 up too high and so i put my cpu to standard, it still did it, i couldnt even load the menu before it would grey screen and restart my pc. I found that by disabling all my sound devices bar the main sound output device (realtek) my problems have gone,, all i get now is a random closedowns and back to desktop (which is normal for this buggggy game), but nothing as bad as the pc resetting.

My 4870x2 has some strange effects on water and some surfaces, I think it may be an ATI card issue. Hopefully they will sort it out after one of the 10.? driver releases.

Need to be patient and just wait on new drivers or a hot fix im afraid,
The 10.3b release notes did say something about a fix for bc2 flicker but it only made it slightly less often for me
If your ok on other games and benchies like Heven 2.0 and stuff then its a BC2 only issue, its not the most stable game to be testing with, it also crashes no matter what the gfx card is ati or nvidia

i have mate tried on and off...its off now....still flickering ithink because my other games seem ok it must be that a patch needs to be updated on drivers or the game....could also be a driver still somewhere on my pc...ill format it soon as i get time....thanks for your help guys.

I used to get flickering in BC2 with my 4870x2, to stop it just changed the AA to a different setting and then back to your normal value. Like 4xAA > 2xAA then change it back to 4xAA and the flickering should stop. Same for the vsync issue, change your resolution to something different then change it back. These are only short term fixes so you'll have to do it each time you start BC2.
