Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam - Bought this game on Steam but can't find it?

Hi there, I got this game on steam tonight for £9.99, and for past 3 hours I've been reading forums and trying to get this to work? The game isnt on my steam games list, I've no idea what to do, when I right click on bad company 2 in my steam games list and click "view downloadable content", it shows vietnam in the list and also shows me the CD key...I've checked the email they sent me after purchase, I've restarted steam like 50x and I've restarted the PC, I've tried loads of little tips and hints off the forums but to no avail, I cant understand it?

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, did you fix it?

Shouldn't the game be in the list? Do any of you own bad company 2 and vietnam DLC? Is it in your games list?

EDIT: in the email I got a verification code, but dont think that does anything? just a receipt isnt it? Also if I go to activate game, it asks me for a code but I dont have one?

you need to put the code into the BC2 game itself.

Start up battlefield, login in.

multiplayer tab
redeem code

enter your code in there

I'm probably being really dumb here, but what code?

The reason this is probably more complicated is because I didn't buy the game myself, I got a friend to login to my steam with his steam client on his PC at his house and use his credit card, so I didn't get a code, he said it gave him a verification code and I got the email with that in, but that's it.

Start up BC2. Login. Press the 'Vietnam' tab. Put your code in. Play.

Seriously how have you missed the words 'vietnam' on the main BC2 screen for 2 months?

right click on the game in library and select view game cd key. should be a list in there

you had to copy CD key out of steam and enter it in-game

I've seen that button loads of times, but like I said above, I didnt have a code, and didnt know what type of code I needed, I tried my verification code in that box but didnt work, it was only by accident that I worked out if you right click BC2 in steam it can give you CD keys and found a forum post online 2 mins ago that said to put CD key in that window in game, just tried it and it worked.

it also pops up in the bottom right as a steam notice saying "open the steam overlay to see code" after you buy it

But you'll still have the CD key on Steam when you start BC2, it even pops up when you start the game.

Lol at trying to look for this for 3 hours.
