Battlefield BC2 crash

OK, so this is a touch annoying!

Load BC2, set everything at high, try launching a single player and BSoD.

BSoD shows something wrong with ATIPMDAG.SYS (plus other gumpf).

I've removed the CPU overclock completely, so now everything is running as out of the box:

Q6600
Sapphire HD 5970 (running 10.2)
Windows 7

...and re-set BC2 to default low res, everything on low settings etc.

BSoD again.

Rather irritated at this! Anyone else experiencing similar? Any suggestions? Not much info on Google at this point sadly... so right now I can't appear to play BC2.

**EDIT: Meant to say, the Beta appeared to play fine, but that was using my old GeForce 9800GX2 card...

maybe try installing some older drivers for your card

9.12 worked, but FPS is rubbish! averaging 35 with settings:

1920 x 1200
Everything on high, except HBAO off, AA 4x, AF 8x.

Im not getting a BSoD, just a never ending loading screen then the desktop appears.

What a ripp :/

Yeah I had to install the 9.12 drivers (had 10.2) becuase of insta crashing. Stupidly SP mode worked fine on 10.2. Im still getting the odd crash, not to mention network issues in MP though.

I'm getting the crash to desktop bug after loading in SP & the server browser can't find anything in MP. I Received my copy today but I had actually downloaded a cracked version to play through th SP & this worked fine! When I got my copy today I uninstalled the cracked version & deleted the install directory. then I installed the retail copy onto a different drive & applied the update that was available. Thats when the problems started. I had no problems on the old version but after the update I can't play at all.

this is what I'm running if it helps:

Q9650 @ 4185MHZ
5870 @ 900/1265 (10.2 AvP Hotfix drivers)
Win7 x64

As I said. All worked fine before updating BC2..

i have MP connectivity issues, and game crashes to desktop at start of single player

Deleted my old saves & setting & now I can play SP (from the start again) but MP is the same as most everyone else. Can't connect. I did manage to get into an empty server once but Punkbuster kicked me after 30 Secs. Good Job EA/Dice. Good Job...
