Hi , Been playing about with battlefield 3 since yesterday , Im wondering what would be the best settings to go with and what you guys think I should be getting out of the card . What would be best , Do I go with the Auto settings of high , getting about 40-60 FPS . or should I go for the ultra , though this drops to 28-40 FPS . TBH I cant see much of a difference between ultra and high so far in general ,
The core speed is 822 Mhz , iv tweaked this up to 850Mhz , the first time i have ever meddled with overclocking it , just temporary for few mins , as I dont really know what im doing , All overclocking threads seem to go with over 560 ti cards and not the gainward , I dont know if this makes a difference , but airing on the side of caution .
Its in a antec 1200 case with plenty of space as its really not a big card , except in depth with all the cooling pipes .
So should I go as is , or should I look to clock it and go higher ? I understand that really to be on ultra should be using a 580 nvidia card ?
Any advice please all .?

Ahh good question , not sure if you mean me memory clock speed which is 2004 Mhz , but i think your meaning the overall usage out of the 2GB , Unfortunately I cant say I have only been measuring FPS with the fraps clock , Ill have to go play a little and give you an answer , Is there a good tool or a best way to have that displayed over the game ? guess having battlefield operate in window mode so I can see the GPU meter wont give a true reading ?

go high for mp and turn msaa to either off or x2 x4 gives a big hit fps wise

also dont have antiliasing deffered on as it put like a blur on which actually makes picture worse not clearer

msaa is the big fps killer and a lot of the other settings do next to nothing

Ok been playing and me GPU usage is at 98-99% have the browser and origin open in the background , but those usual desktop apps and browsers normally only account for 2% on my GPU meter . though its running nice and smooth at about 50/60fps on high , with a small amount of motion blur on.

Personally.

Ultra everything except

Motion blur off
AA 4x
MSAA Off

Should be good for around 60fps

Using high AA or MSAA makes it tough to see some of the distant movement

To Find out your GPU memory being used, Download the MSI Afterburner app (google) latest V2.2.0 beta it will also allow you to overclock the card and monitor temps, FPS etc. A very good app.
