I have an old battlenet account with WoW on that I never use and I recently added the iPhone authenticator during the SC2 beta.

I forgot all about this when I upgraded my phone and deleted the app so I can no longer access my account to add SC2.

The online form to remove the authenticator asks for your secret question or scan of your passport - theres no way I'm sending a scan of my passport but I cant remember what my secret question was?

Do you choose the question from a list and if so whats on the list?

Why are you against sending a scan of your passport? All they do is take the name and address from it then delete it

a lot of people seem very worried about sending passport / driving license to blizzard :p. They just use it to verify your the account holder via address name etc.

But yeh ringing them should sort it out. You will have to confirm aload of security details tho.

I used the password reset option which showed me my secret question and then submitted a request to remove the authenticator - I assumed this would take days so created another account for SC2 and then an hour later they e-mailed to say it had been removed!! Doh! Now stuck with two accounts!!:o

Thanks all for the replies.......

n111ck, ring the number, tell them what you did and they may, and I do mean 'may' be able to move that key to the right account for you.

No harm in asking.
