Having just watched a video of this game I cannot wait to get my hands on it. It (sort of) reminds me of carrier command on the Amiga, except on a whole different scale.

Can't wait to see what it's like online as well. Although I hear the maps are a touch unbalanced.

fileshack has a demo.

The demo is pretty decent.

One hassle is it will not run with your gamespy ID. You must install Gamespy arcade and use the new name you create using that app.

Since creating my accout I've yet to run the bloatware that is arcade though, and been playing the demo without issue.

Destroyer's, Battleships and Carriers... Oh my!

I just downloaded the MP demo and watched some of the action. And while I rarely get excited about games these days, especially after my crushing disappointment with Rome: Total War, I have to say I can't wait for this. :D

Seeing as it's mission based, it reminds me more of a spanked up Hostile Waters, rather than the free form loveliness of Carrier Command. But hey, it's pre-ordered as of now.

* Lack of single-player skirmish mode looks a little daft though.

When I tried to run this game I just kept getting asked to leave as I didn't know what was going on.
Isn't there any sort of offline practice?

best thing you can do in the demo is try and set up a 1vs1 game with some one to walk you through the controls. Or failing that just close your eyes and jump into a 4v4 game and ask your team mates for advice. I found, it was a little tricky at first but you get the hang of it in the end....

Ok I'll try the 1vs1 Idea I'll have to get my mate to try it as soon as he's sorted his new PC.

I played it last Friday - the battleships are pretty ok, couldn't get into any subs. Didn't know how to release torpedoes from the planes. It was ok. My advise is to get a full keymap before you start playing.

No you don't, it uses my old old OLD gamespy ID created back when moh:aa first came out. ;)

I bought the full game on Direct 2 Drive for £20ish, its fun but seems way too short, needs to be about 4x as long.

Multiplayer is good though.
