Battlezone VR - Gold Edition

It's nearly a decade old but it's still one of my favourite VR games I didn't see a thread for it so thought I'd make one to highlight it for anyone who missed it first time round due to it's vintage. The aesthetics and rogue-like arcade gameplay work wonders in VR. It's a game I keep going back to it on PC VR even though it was one of the first games I picked up for Playstation VR back in 2016!

It's full price at the moment but you can often find it on Steam for under a £5 when there's a sale (or from a third party CD key site).

Anyone else on here a fan? I'd thoroughly recommend playing it if you haven't. It's criminal that it hasn't received a native Quest 3 port as it would work great on the platform.

I love that they added a "classic mode" update for the old timers like myself so you can play the original 80's arcade game in VR!

I keep meaning to pick it up, now... back in the day there was some controversy if I remember correctly that the steam version would not recognise the Oculus controllers (I would have been using the OG Rift at the time), does it work with them now? Not that it really should matter as I expect using my HOTAS would be better anyway.

Unfortunately the game still doesn't support the Quest/Oculus controllers. You need to use an xbox controller (or equivalent) to play it. Ideally, you'd want to play it with that type of controller as it really needs dual stick and the shoulder buttons. They still should have added support for VR controllers as an option at least though.

I enjoyed it somewhat, and I'm a super fan of the original.
