BBC Gameshow - The Traitors

I wish the traitors had more impact. Like they could work to sabotage tasks and any money not won is given to them as prize money instead. Sort of a risk-reward thing, playacting to steal away money without giving away that they are traitors.

The format of, someone dies, someone leaves, someone dies, someone leaves just feels a bit bland a few seasons in. Even when they find all the traitors they just add more so it feels like there's no real reward for doing so.

That was what was good about The Mole, the active sabotage. It had a Netflix reboot which was ok but I remember the first time around being better (he says through rose-tinted glasses)

100% agree the formula is stale now and other shows do it better.
It's very much a character show and these celeb ones are at least entertaining watching them interact.
Alan carr was hilarious...

First time watching Canada version.

Mixing Civilians and Celebs is not a bad idea, still a bit OTT but not as bad as US version.

New mechanics did take me by suprise as well.

Can you explain the new mechanics without spoiling? Sounds interesting!

The NZ and Aus are combined ceeb and bleb. Works better in my mind. The US is the worst due to the contestants being either influencers, the whole housewives thing makes for the worst TV experience, and if you watch the corresponding “unclocked” for the US show, it shows the US MAGA “privilege” in action as there’s just condescending talking down.

I started the Oz first series and I think one of the traitors in the series is the most ruthless I've seen yet. If she was your girlfriend you wouldn't sleep at night.

One thing I don't get with the UK series is why no one has worked out the last two to come to breakfast are always faithful.

Played a version at a friend's 40th at the weekend - with a games master running it all. Fan of the show and this one worked well. My wife was a traitor and I didn't know until I inadvertently ratted her out :p....

Will have to chuck on the Oz one soon. Was thinking of suggesting playing Mafia at work as I'd like to try it. Haven't completely read and understood the rules yet, but was thinking it could be via email, but I guess maybe you need to have F2F, so probably wouldn't work. Maybe just in our small seven person office.
