Hello,
I do wish to use the BBC IPlayer but I can;t as it is just unusable for myself as it just buffers like every 5 seconds so I get 5 minutes of viewing then about 1-1-1/2 minutes of buffering then 5 seconds of playtime.

Is there anything I can do that might help this?

Thanks

Regards,
Neil

I just want to strem it from the site. My current internet speed is 1Mb and how do I know if i am going throguh a proxy. I am just a standard home user with a broadband connection via a standard 4 port router.

If you are downloading (a song or other file for instance) at the same time as trying to stream from the BBC, it will give you troubles with buffering.

Try running a broadband speed test (e.g. http://www.speedtest.net/) and post the results here. To check if you are going through a proxy, go to Internet Options, then Connections, then click the LAN settings button. There's a tick box here to switch on/off a proxy.

No other downloads taking place at the time. This is why I am posting as it shouldn;t be buffering for that long when nothing else is taking place using the net

Is your ISP AOL?

Carephone Warehouse own AOL (UK).

It's like my ISP are Pipex, but seeing as Tiscali own Pipex, it shows that I am on Tiscali's network.

/me waits for Be/02 LLU Activation...
