BBC iPlayer - everything disappeared (again)

I recently had the (common) issue where an Adobe AIR update (3.6) totally ****** the iPlayer and I had to uninstall and re-download all my programmes.

Since then, it's been working okay (when reinstalling the iPlayer from the website, it automatically installed AIR 3.6 again).

However, fast forward to today... i've just rebooted and reloaded the iPlayer and everything has disappeared again

The download programmes are still there (there's 8GB of stuff in the repository), does anyone know of an easy way to restore them?

It seems that this is an issue every time there's an AIR update (see here). Would I be best off reinstalling and sticking with 3.5?!

Appreciate any input!

thanks

Found a way to restore them, but this is just deja vu, so screw it, I'm installing an old version of AIR and re-downloading everything!

Be careful, old versions of air contain vulnerabilities that could lead to malware infection.

You can delete (i just renamed, to be on the safe side) the "BBCiPlayerDesktop<random characters>" folder in %appdata%\Adobe\AIR\ELS

There's also a folder a similar folder in %appdata% but that didn't do anything when i renamed it.

It'll initually load up all your previous downloads, with "licence pending" next to them - then over the next few minutes it should update and say "available until X" as normal.

I did this before, but I still lost everything after a reboot, so i'll see if downgrading to AIR 3.4 works!
