BBC One +1 & iPlayer 30 day catch-up

I fully expect to hear howls of "unfair to it's competitors" from some parts.

It sounds like a really good idea, and an extension of the way it already works given some series make earlier episodes available until a week after the last one, but I can also see it raising complaints from some other broadcasters and the likes of netflix.
They've tried similar good ideas in the past but had them shot down on "competition reasons" when they've gone for approval, only for the competition to never turn up.

Glad to hear they're increasing the catch-up period, the current 7-day one on most current stuff is stupidly short really considering 4OD usually has stuff up for ages.

some of the best stuff on iplayer was when it first launched.

what happened to all the cool docudramas like the viking one that were on there?
yea 4od is good for catchup stuff with often full series on there and really old stuff from the past that is still worth a watch an likely costs them nothing to have as an available watch.

I don't see the point in on demand if it's only for newer stuff and not back catalogues of which the bbc likely has more than anyone else, they do good with the films on iplayer but I feel the bbc could offer so much more of their own collections

BBC One +1 meh

I like the idea of the iplayer time extension, but I would prefer it if they made their archives available for on-demand viewing, even if they charged a small fee.
