My workmate mentioned the above in a tongue-in-cheek way. He said that each year a different song gets rammed down our throats and when he said that it struck a nerve because it's true. I can remember some of them, but not all.

(I remember one that was used on an advert with a guy doing some stupid dancing in a bar/cafe, but can't think what it actually was.)
