An astounding video uncovered from the archives today shows the BBC reporting on the collapse of WTC Building 7 over twenty minutes before it fell. The incredible footage shows BBC reporter talking about the collapse of the Salomon Brothers Building while it remains standing in the live shot behind her head.

now i don't know what i think with regards to the 9/11 attacks but out of all the conspiracy theories, that has to be the biggest pile of Yewen's poop i have ever seen

The suggestion is with the days events having been planned somebody involved with the conspiracy released this piece of "news" too early and the BBC blindly went ahead and started reporting it.

Whether true or not, it's highly dubious, especially when they cut the reporter off minutes before the building does collapse (probably having realised their mistake), blaming it on a technical fault.

Why on earth would "they" need to release that news, surely people would have noticed when it actually happened regardless?

Jokester

I remember watching the BBC coverage as it happened and there was all sorts of confusion at the time, they didnt know if it was a mistake by a pilot or a freak accident or a terrorist plot for most of the report, it wasent until you saw the second plane smash into the building "live" that they all sort of went ahhh right its terrorists then

No conspiracy at all, you can see why a busy newsroom like the BBC would perhaps get details wrong when reporting things that are unfolding at the time, i mean FGS do people really think the BBC would be stupid enough to let slip something like that if they were privy to information about the attacks, especially as they were reporting it live with a picture of the building behind the reporter

I don't think that I will ever believe some conspiracy theory on the web, this for example and the loose change or whatever it's called.

It's disgusting that people think our own government would do this to us.

It was a mistake. They said the wrong thing. Why would anyone (presumably evil mega coorperations and world governments) be issuing news reports and scripts even if they were involved in some conspiracy? It would be massively unnecessary to issue a "the tower has fallen down" report in advance. Even if the report was "suspiciously" taken off air after they realised the tower hadn't fallen down, it would have been because they realised that they'd made a mistake. There is no evidence whatsoever of conspiracy theories and I'm astonished that so many people seem to be taking this seriously! (Not least the ridiculously angry comments on that BBC blog)

I'm not suggesting that we should assume the media and governments are perfect and flawless, but I have a lot more faith in the BBC response than in a random theory someone's posted on the internet.

Surely, one of the biggest events in recent times they would keep as much coverage as possible for future reference? Seems a bit odd…
The quote kind of implies that they didn't delete it on purpose...

It just beggers belief that when ever these type of recordings of famous events are asked for they have nearly always magically "been lost due to a clerical error!... whoops!" :D

Anthing states side you have to take with a huge pinch of salt. Yes they are slack as as my waist line is and they cover up and get shot of people all the time so this defo could have happened

Haha, the BBC response is magic. 'Our reporter can't remember what she said, we...eh..lost the original tapes, do anyone else have them?"

Im being tempted to the side of the conspiracy theory, it is just too easy to believe it, as they seem to have more facts and material than the BBC, who just loose things like that (The largest ever terrorist action in the world/one of the biggest movements in US history)

I just find that utterly irresponsible and also highly improbable :o

I find it bizzare that you would report such a huge building collapsing when it hadn't, especially when you have a reporter there live with that very building still standing behind her.

I can only imagine that at the time this was reported the firefighters were pulling out of the building because they thought it was going to collapse. This information then made it's way to the BBC as the building has collapsed.

I still find it odd and can't think of another example where live news have got it so totally wrong.
