Poll: BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2014

Some decent choices, but only a handful in my opinion who have achieved some truly amazing things. For me its close between Carl Froch and Rory McIlroy.

A little disappointed that Sam Burgess has been overlooked this year. He's been ripping up the NRL for a few years now, winning the grand final in his final year with a broken cheekbone.

Choices are:

• Gareth Bale
• Charlotte Dujardin(?! hmmmm, just no)
• Carl Froch
• Kelly Gallagher & Charlotte Evans (very impressive stuff)
• Lewis Hamilton (again, just no, F1 isn't a sport, its rich boys go-karts, whoever has the fastest car wins)
• Rory McIlroy (amazing run of victories over the year, including the Open and US PGA)
• Jo Pavey
• Adam Peaty
• Max Whitlock
• Lizzy Yarnold (again impressive gold for a nation who really doesn't excel, for obvious reasons, at winter sports)

Poll added. I don't think there's a clear cut winner this year as there has been in recent years but I'd be inclined towards Carl Froch although Jo Pavey has done fantastically well this year also.

Yeah, there's something about Froch. He certainly has a bit of a personality!

Anyone else think Lizzy Yarnold is quite an attractive young woman or am I in 'Guilty Pleasure' territory.

Dujardin being shortlisted as a top ten for spoty is an utter joke....I mean, really???

Why? She controls her machine with as much precision as Lewis, and doesn't have 1200 people at a factory building and designing her machine for her.

Well I don't think he deserves to win it either. F1 is such a sterile 'sport' with virtually no personalities whatsoever.

Additionally, surely being the captain of the Ryder Cup team has to be the biggest none-job ever.
