I am using Peer Guardian and had it open whilst opening up my brwoser and one of the IPs repeatedly coming up is labled BBC.

BBC xxx.xxx.x.x:xxxx 212.58.226.8:80 TCP

I don't dowload illegal stuff, the only thing I can think of is the fact I don't have TV. The internet is my entertainment. I have been shredding all the letters from TV Licensing as they are just junk mail.

Start Rant (skip if you wish)

I opened one recently and it said it was a final warning they are gonna come investigate... whatever, I don't have tv so why should I worry? If they want to waste paper and waste time fine, but I;m not going to waste my time waiting to get through to them on the phone nor can I be bothered to write them a letter stating I don't have a TV. Really why should they assume I can;t live with out TV when all there is is utter crap on?

End Rant

Any way... so do you think its possible they are checking out what I'm doing? And if so is what they are doing illegal?

Nope no iPlayer installed although I signed up for Beta just never bothered with it cos I thought afterwards 'Why am I signing up for something I don't want?'. TV still some what has a hold on me... like if I go round a mates house and its on, I find myself drawn to it :D been with out TV for about 3-4 years!

As for the warrent, they better have a copper with them if they do come to my door otherwise they are not getting in. Why should I have to let them into my house because they assume I can't live with out TV, its so absurd, almost like the luddy mafia or something.

So you recon they aren't checking me out?

Got any addons for firefox that could be going to the bbc?

Check who is trying to make a connection to who, if your pc is the source ip with bbc as the destination then it is firefox or some app trying to make the connection.

GSpace, FireFTP and Download Helper.

I don't go any where near BBC wehsites, online radio, etc.

No Radio, No TV Tuner.

I live on Internet, Books, Sex and Food. TV reduces the amount of sex you have :)

There would be no issue with TV licence if you could be bovered to pick up the phone and contact them. let them know that you don't have a tv. I told them that I had a tv and it was only used for playing dvd's and games consoles and that there is no antenna cable connected to my TV since then I haven't received any letters or anyone knocking on my door. its a 2 minute phone call.

if you can get through to them that is... I have tried before several times and ended up waisting about an hour of my time waiting to get through to someone... why should I waist my time on their assumption?

which browser do you use?

if its mozilla then the "Latest Headlines" automatically connects to the BBC site to get a listing of the recent news articles.

That could be it... I check out how to stop it :D
