BBC Video Problem

I'm experiencing a problem when playing BBC videos whether it be news media or programmes on iplayer whereby the video will load fine and start playing but within the first second the video will pause for 1.5-2 seconds before continuing (sometimes starting again not where it left off) and playing the remaining clip perfectly fine.

Immediate thoughts would point to buffering but this really isn't the case as no loading dials appear, other computers using the same connection work fine and it occurs on the same computer on different internet networks.

This is happening with both Firefox and Chrome so not a browser or plugin issue.

Could it be Adobe Flash or similar problem? Pretty sure I keep these applications up-to-date.

Would normally google the problem but so many hits are simply buffering issues!

Thanks in advance,

I've had this for a while now...I'm suspecting it's capping/traffic management as I'm with BT and I know they shape iplayer/bbc video traffic

I get the same, annoying issue using Firefox 3.6.13 / Flash 10.1.102.64 on a BE connection. For me it has been going on longer than I can remember.

I've been having a similar problem on my iPad (on my parents 7.5meg Sky connection, and my in-laws 2meg BT connection), which rules out Flash. Wonder if it's a problem at the BBC?

I'm on a BE connection and experience similar although not 'exactly similar' problems on O2.
As far as I can remember it started occurring when I moved connection to BE but still occurs when I move to the O2 connection.

It must be something unique with the BBC site but strange that it's not happening to everyone yet 'always' happens to me/us.
