That time of year is approaching and this time around i would love to try my hand at some smoking when i BBQ, looking around i have found asda have a brinkmann barrel smoke BBQ for £89.

Brinkmann barrel smoker.

Porcelain coated steel cooking grates with a family sized, extra depth, 47 x 40cm cooking area
A 46 x 20cm chrome plated warming rack
Temperature Gauge for lid down, slow cooking
Coiled handles help to stay cooler to the touch
Pull-out charcoal ash tray for easier cleaning
Adjustable height charcoal grates for better cooking control
Adjustable side vents and smokestack to regulate heat

Is this worth the money, they have an upright barrel smoker grill that is £60 and isnt adjustable for cooking height etc, this will be my first smoker and if all goes well i will invest in a much better unit next year.

Who said anything about summer, i just mean its warm enough to venture outside and cook. You don't need to do it in a tea shirt
:D

I nearly got the BBQ out the other day, doesn't have to be summer, just not ****ing down with rain. Then it snowed. Thwarted again.

I'm getting a smoker this year. The kids really want to smoke some ham and cheese. I have weird kids.

Sounds like you have epic kids, if they enjoy 80's cartoons and think Simon cowell is a tool your raising the future of this country :D

The smoker i have listed looks a decent one has plenty of features and i cant really find anything better for the money. any one else?

Side boxes aren't just for cold smoking.

As for wood chips, tons of places sell them online. But due to postage your better off putting in a big order with charcoal, other equipment.
