BC2 and Vent PTT problem - \+a+s=esc

I've recently had problems with my Ventrilo Push to Talk bind key - "\" and Battlefield Bad Company 2 in Windows 7.

I'm in-game and getting shot at. So I start scampering backwards and strafing to the left, whilst pushing to talk to my squad mates (in Ventrilo) and suddenly the menu screen would be brought up. As if I'd pressed "Esc"

So basically "\+a+s=Esc"...

Tried the keys out of Bad Company 2 and it was still a problem so I guess ultimately it's a Windows problem.

Searched around and found no solution. I appreciate changing my push to talk key is one but I'd rather not as \ is perfectly placed.

Anyone know a solution, or a way to disable the combination of keys equalling Esc?

Use a mouse button it's easier, faster and never has compatibility issues! Try it!

Cheers for thinking and replying but I have.

My mouse buttons are used as back and forward buttons when browsing the net, so when I'm chatting with mates it's a right pain.

Tried a PS/2 keyboard and it doesn't happen, so must be my USB keyboard.

Tried some key modifying software but again didn't fix the problem as my keyboard still interpreted the 3 key presses as Esc.

Ordered a Logitech Wireless Desktop Wave.
