How do i get a key for this? I try on the page and the button doesnt seem to do anything after i fill out date of birth etc

If you mean on the official battlefield site, you don't get anything. It's a draw or something. Either pre-order from Steam for guarunteed key or pre-order from Play which is cheaper but people seem to have issues getting their keys.

Personally I went with Play and got my key within a few hours.
 
I just want to see how it woks on my system. Maybe there is a way to create a new server and have a run around without actualy joining a proper game
 
You can get one but it will cost you £2.00.

Subscribe to http://www.fileplay.net/. It is £2.00 per month.

They will then give you a beta key. You can then cancel your subscription.

You will also be able to download it from their fast servers which are only for subscribers.

I have had 3 keys now.

One from Play, though I canceled my order as the EA download site is cack. I gave it to a clan member.

I then pre-ordered from Steam and am happily playing the Beta through that. It might have cost a bit more but I don;t care it is soo much easier!

I also got given a key from FilePlay, as I am a subscriber. I gave that away to a clan member as well.

Pre-ordering from Play is no guarentee that you'll get a key - despite there website saying you will receive it within 24-hours, I pre-ordered last Thursday and have still not got a key. Emailed them yesterday and they appologised and said my key has still not been allocated... not sure what that translates to, but still not received anything.

As for fileplay, that is a lottery because they release a batch of keys on the hour, and they are snapped up in seconds. Check their twitter page, they say themselves that the last set of keys went in 20-something seconds.

Best bet is probably steam, but its about a tenner more expensive.
 
I have already downloaded it, installed and got to the stage where it asks for a key. Anyone want to donate or sell me one for £2 if you dont use it? That or use the key, test and pass on to someone else

(presuming its not tied down, which i dont think it will be)
