BC2 BETA/FULL GAME... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

As the title says i'm still downloading it.

would be great to get feedback and see what every1 else thought of it.

The lag will be sorted and is expected:

Gordan Van dyke said this:

DICE also wants fans to know why the Beta is taking place - this isn't just a playable demo.

"The Beta is happening for many reasons, like testing the infrastructure, hosting stability, and gameplay tuning (FOV, Weapon Balance, etc...) that no amount of internal testing could provide better than real world exposure," explained Gordon Van Dyke, associate producer on Bad Company 2. "This means there will also be times of choppiness, lag, disconnects, CTDs or other issues a Beta version of any MP game would have."

frontlines fuel of war is what i have to say, they were saying it was going to put mw2 to shame but im very disapointed

They? I think you mean "we".

We hyped the game up and said it was going to be better than MW2. Unless I missed an interview where the BF guys came out and said their game would put MW2 to shame?

As long as BFBC2 has a BF2 feel and play style to it, I'll be happy with that. Not holding my breath though.

You have to give it time, high expectations i suppose will always let the game down. Give it time, people on vent are really enjoying it!

Once we get our own servers lag will settle down.

So far a lot less bad companys and shooting and a lot more downloading really slowly than I hoped:

so far: laggy servers, **** FOV, dreadful, dreadful, dreadful server browser, rest of the games quite fun

Well obviously it WONT! Its NOT BF3 its BC2 and BC1 was very consolely, as is this having played it, changing the FOV to 90 might save it but im not confident they will

BC1 was consoley because it was only available on consoles. To me this feels very much like a PC game.

From my short (non laggy using the auto search) game this evening it feels aster paced than BF2 but slower paced than COD:MW. I think you'll need to work in squads and go for objectives to get the most of this game. If you want to run around on your own, charging people with knives or bunny hopping round corners so you can get the highest number of kills on the server to prove your worth then it's probably not going to be for you. My opinion, feel free to agree or disagree.

Played the demo on live while I wait for the PC version. Reminded me a lot of my first days on BF2 since I haven't played the series for so long.

I'll reserve judgement until I've played the PC version though, such easy pickings on Live!, to most Xbox players I think "flanking" is a foreign word so its hilariously easy to take down an entire team.

How is it running for people? (ignoring lag) How is the performance with various settings. (Can you alter the settings for the beta or are they fixed?)

Im just hoping its like BC1 was on the 360. I loved that but have NEVER mastered a control pad for FPS games.

From the gameplay trailers I've seen, it looks like a battlefield game. I haven't played it so I can't say if it feels like a battlefield game.

:o

I have played it and I say it feels like a Battlefield game. :)

Sound effects are good too, as they were on BF2, love the sound of a gunship strafing across the battlefield as I run for cover.

so far so good, took a while to get a good dload. got on a server straight away (Cali one so a bit of lag but wasnt horrendous)

enjoyed it, got 5.1 speakers on and omg its really good, very immersing.

I think (as posted above) the game will deffo come to its own with squad play and voice comms, which is what I miss with fps these days.

weapons are ok, with a few unlocks etc I am sure we will be able to find what suits us best.

its auto set mine as 1280x1024 and medium settings on a c2d 4300 @ 3ghz, asus p5ne-sli, 4gb ocz hpz reaper, ati 4850 512mb and dell 2007fpw (native is 1680x1050 so will change in game to that and see how much of a hit I take)

anyway its horses for courses and so far I think its looking pretty good, cant compare with mw2 as didnt buy it :)
