Some help guys please. I posted in the official thread but I thought It might get lost.
Just built a new system and tried to get on multiplayer, only problem is I can't get any servers at all. Both Bc2 and Vietnam won't connect.

I have the Steam version if that makes a difference, I have done the manual update for punkbuster but still no servers found.

The ports open are: 80, 18121, 18126, and 13505 and it's allowed access through windows firewall.

Any advice guys?

Are you searching with the filter with "EA SERVERS" selected?

If so, un-check it and try again.

Hope this solves it.

EDIT: I just tried it myself now and with EA SERVER selected I get 0 results. Without EA SERVER selected I get 977 servers.

According to the faq you need these ports open -

TCP outgoing

80
18390
18395
13505

UDP outgoing

18395

* It may also help to open the incoming UDP port 10000.

I have the same issue but only on peak internet times (5pm ish to midnight) as im with BT broadband and live in village with crappy exchange, its seems to be only BC2 +vietnam that has the issue.

I'm also with BT and have had some problems playing during peak times.

Is your server list failing to populate? If so, when you search for servers just click search once and then leave it alone. Sometimes I have to wait 5 minutes for it to finish looking for servers. If I try to cancel the search and then search again it will immediately come up with a connection error message.

Might be worth a try.

Does anyone have trouble staying online?

I can play for about 30 minutes before my connection to the server is lost. It only happens temporarily as I'm able to rejoin the server within a couple of minutes. I've tried port forwarding and UPnP, doesn't seem to have helped.

I get that too, I play my first game for about 20 mins get DC'ed rejoin then I'm fine for however long I play but if I change server I get dc'ee again around 20 mins then once again I'm fine

Weird problem!

It's the BTHomeHub2; it's a big pile of crap. There is some setting that needs to be changed but they have locked the bloody thing down so it cannot be done.

I had some problems with online games during peak hours when I was on BT Broadband but when I upgraded to BT Infinity I have had no connection problems whatsoever, since they provide you with a BTHomeHub3.

I would suggest phoning them up and seeing if they will sort you out with a HomeHub3.

Thanks. I might be able to con them into giving me a free upgrade.

Yeah, I did.

They also sent out an engineer that fitted some new master socket that stops the BB connection from going anywhere else in the house meaning you don't to have filters on every phone but also meaning that you have to have the router plugged directly into it (which was annoying as I liked wired internet and my PC is too far from the master socket to run a cable).

It increased my connection from 2Mb to about 3.5Mb (I was on "up to 8Mb")

Then I found out I could get BT Infinity..... :D

I live in one of my dads house's that has his internet with o2 going thru a Thompson 595 router I think it is can't remember exactly as I'm at work at the moment! So the bthonehub issue can't be that for me! I never ever get DC'ed from any game other then bc2! :-(

IIRC the homehub2 is actually a thompson router. So this could still be the problem :)

Just found this on wiki:

"There were two different manufacturers of the Version 2 hub; Thomson make the 2A (Type A hub) and Gigaset (now Sagem Communications, Sagem having acquired the Gigaset broadband business in July 9) makes the 2B (Type B hub). Whilst the looks and functionality appear to be identical, the Type 2A has been plagued with problems relating to poorly tested Firmware upgrades which among other problems cause the Hub 2A to restart when uploading files using the wireless connection.[5] and which have been fixed since."

On BT here, using a netgear dg834pn adsl router, also get the odd disconnect now and again, some nights the server browser is also very slow to load.
