So had a look around after finding out that it's currently possible to OC the non-k versions of skylakes. Before people go on about (Should have just bought the K version) the non-k was dirt cheap at the time, would have been silly to miss it.

From what I'v researched, the only issues thus far is no program will give a temp output (which is fine because I can just monitor GPU for a close guess as I have a fully custom loop)

I need to turn off Turbo Boost

There is potentially a BIOS update I might need (Refer to picture before suggesting to change BIOS)

Other than that, I don't actually know what I'm doing as I'v only ever used the multiplier on an AMD chip, never changed voltage (which I'm lead to believe I will need to change to ~ 1.35V for a 4.5Ghz OC (Which is a guess, I know testing will be needed to be done))

Is anyone able to help a newb out at all?

set ring ratio to match cpu ratio

Set ram to XMP, then turn the ratio down to lower speed go down two steps. when your putting up the cpu base clock it will increase the ram speed too dont go passed the rated sped of your ram if you need to put the ram ration down 1 more step.

CPU Vcore 1.350
CPU SA 1.100
CPU IO 1.100
Set CPU voltage mode to FIXED

now start putting you the base clock go up in steps of 7, boot and test.

I already have "A" BIOS from somewhere, I'll use the link you sent me. ( Never flashed my BIOS either xD ) There is something I change in the BIOS which seems to disable the LAN driver completely forcing me to change the option back, not sure what option it is yet :(. Gonna get onto it now and start tweeking.
 
Whats C-State, I don't see anything :(

You have said to match Ring Ratio with CPU ratio, CPU Ratio is [Auto] No options to pick, only manual entries, what should I do :(

Change voltages (SA was a drop in volts, defualt was higher than 1.100 but I assume you know this already, just confirming)

When changing the CPU Base Clock, defualt is 100Mhz, do you mean increments such as: 107, 114, 121 ect?

Match the ring and cpu speeds. set cpu to max ratio, i dont know yours but lets say 37, then go and set ring to the same so you have 1:1 overclock raito on both

That is is right yes.

the CPU i last used SA was default to 1.000 if SA was already passed this let it be at auto the new bios may have upped it for you

They are both on Auto, sorry, I should have mentioned that or grabbed a screenshot before hand. This is where my confusion is coming, change both to 37 :D ?

I'll leave this for now but change it at the first point of issue.
 
Ok, before I push any further, I'm going to wait for your suggestion because numbers are all over the place...

If you check the very top of the screenshot, I get a CPU read of 4.35Ghz, HWMonitor and CPU-Z are both reporting 4.351Ghz as well. Looking at the greyed out part (CPU Frequency ) on the other hand shows 4.7? Which would should I be taking note of? http://imgur.com/jZqej2x

When you OC a none K CPU you cant use the turbo ration. bios docent know this so with let you set x37. but you will only get x34.

ever think looks ok to me i dont see any reason to panic.

My only board digi show me the cpu temps(real), all other programs show me ever 100c or -1c lol.
Everything is just a little bit buggy right now but with future bios it will get better.
 
Using CPU-Z, Current Core Speed: 4.4Ghz, this is wit ha Base Clock of 130.

Anything over 130 locks my system, I'v used ratio as 37, how should I proceed to try and hit above 4.4Ghz? Ideally, I'd love to hit 4.8 if possible, will report back with temps after prime runs for a little bit.
 
For some reason, in your screen shots you are only using the 34x multiplier. Can you mess around with the turbo boost features, and see if you can get it running a 37x on all cores?

No idea what I would do or where to look, ratios are set to 37, are they not the same thing?
