Hi

I'm looking at getting a new bluray player and have narrowed down my search to either the panny bdt320 or bdt500 and the sony s790 both the later are the high end players with duel hdmi ports.

My question is does the twin hdmi ports only come in handy for people with 3d tvs that need to bypass there amp that is not 3d compatible?

Or is it also a upgrade passing standard 2d video and audio threw different cables?

thanks

Just for 3D I believe, can't think of any other benefit anyway. Onkyo do one with two HDMI ports for the same reason.

The Pioneer BDP LX55 is worth looking at for a dual HDMI Blu Ray - is about £260ish now

Its a very good machine!!

I went ahead and got the bdt500 , I suppose its no harm passing video and audio separate as it means the video goes straight to the tv instead of passing threw the amp?

I will try both methods to see if I notice any difference.

cheers
