My mate is on BE and his router is broken so while he waits for a new router to be sent out to him he wants to get online with a Netgear DG834 router. The only thing he knows is BE don't use a username and password to log in, can anybody tell me what settings he needs to change on the router so he can get online with BE

Doesnt the DG834 only support ADSL? and not ADSL2+?
Your better off spending around £10 and getting a DG834GT (sky branded model) off the bay, thats what I did, but I payed £6, then debrand it back to netgear firmware, then upgrade to DGTeam firmware
I have been running one for almost 2 years now, excellent router and with the custom firmware its even better
