Right here is the story...

I first got broadband when it first came out where a engineer had to come install a special box in my room, its been like this ever since nothing has changed.

was with aol for years and recently changed last year, it was crap slow most days but never used to disconnect.

changed to be broadband and its been excellent constant fast speeds all the time.
now the last few months its been terrible it disconnecting for days and hard to keep connecting the broadband light just keeps flickering.
been on fone to be lots of times they have done tests tried it with a filter in other phone sockets but it only connects from this one socket that a engineer fitted years ago!

now be broadband say they have checked everything up to my house and everything is fine, now could there be a broadband with the box that got put in could it have just suddenly broke?

do you recon its time to get a bt engineer out and get our lines checked or phone up[ be and have another go ?

they did not recommend doing this, i think they did sort it out when i first starting getting the problems... once it disconnects it takes ages to get connected again

I rang them up again and they said they could send one of their engineers out to check our lines and if they found out to be a internal problem then they would charge me £140!
but i asked them to change the profile to the lowest one, only connects at something like 2.7mb now but its been on ever since and no disconnects!

so just going to see how it goes, i wouldnt mind 5mb again but if it cures the problems im not fussed!

I have tried it in all sockets in the house it just does not connect, it only connects from this one socket the one that the bt engineer installed years ago when i first got broadband
