Hi guys,
After your advice and getting Be* in 08 and it's been fantastic. 24meg down 1.3 up (not on the Pro package) and £12 a month
Anyway, lately I keep getting disconnected and the little network box in Windows 7s system tray shows the activity icon, then the exclamation symbol then eventually it kicks back to life and then the DSL connects again. Odd.
I'm very sure its not just the DSL dropping, but it seems completely random, can be a few days or twice in a day no matter how much usage it gets.
I have two PCs and a powerline adapter connected and two iphones wirelessly to the standard Thomson Speedtouch TG585v7. Apart from not having gigabit, I'm perfectly happy with the setup, bar this silly issue.
My stats shortly after getting connected to Be were in the following post: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11829765&postcount=35
There are now as follows:
Uptime: 0 days, 0:11:48
DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,313 / 24,574
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 18.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 4.0 / 9.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 7.0 / 7.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 8 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 8 / 8
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 5,208 / 8
(only been up a few mins I know, need to reset it again anyway).
The main thing I have nocited after this 'reboot' is that my NAT reverts to strict in MW2 (been playing a lot of that lately) and I need to reboot the router and sometimes my computer too for it to revert back to open, which I find rather odd.
Is it time to get rid of the Speedtouch? I know many people hate it, but it's served me well bar this one problem. Any ideas? Anything better out there?
