Hi all,

I have read about Be internet being good and i like the fact they offer a service with a good upload speed.
I was just wondering if anyone here is using the Nuneaton exchange and how reliable its been.

Thanks
Lee

pointless answering your question

your service level from Be will be dependant upon your line length. My best mate has quite a long line from his exchange, and only gets about 4mb with be. however hes on be's cheapest 8mb tariff for £14 a month and gets no download limits and decent upload so he's happy

however, im much closer to the exchange and get about 11mb.

Because of the noise on his line, he's reporting qutie frequent disconnections, on the other hand i dont.

I understand about line lengths and the quality of the line, and how it alters speed. I was just asking for a quick overview if someone lived in Nuneaton and how they have found the service

Regards
Lee

ok, but their experience of the service will have no bearing on what service level you are likely to receive.

they could well say their service ie amazing, but if your line length is too long, Be may not even bother to take you on as a customer.

Best bet is to phone Be and ask what your line speed is likely to be. They are usually pretty accurate.

If you know your attenuation, this should also give you a clue -

My attenuation is 6.5 (if im reading it right) and I only get 6mb on ADSL Max.

Is 6.5 even possible? maybe im looking at the wrong number?

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 3.5 / 6.5

Not complaining, 6 is plenty, just curious that if BE ever did go into my exchange I would be looking at max speed.

well if thats your attenuation, youve got a fantastic line, ar you sure thats not your SN margin?

mine is Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 17.0 / 36.0

And I get 11mb download speed, 1.3mb upload.

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 832 / 6,368
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 9.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 3.5 / 6.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 12.0 / 16.5

Not sure which of the above applies to that graph?

All I know is I sync around 6mb and have an IP Profile of 5500, I gave up long ago trying to get it fixed, despite having aparently "that should be good enough for 8mb stats"

I prefer stability over speed anyway.
