'Be' Internet Router Settings

Hello all,

I'm about to be connected to 'Be' internet, and was wondering if the settings that 'Be' will give me for their modem router (Be box) will be compatible/useable for my 'Netgear' modem router for which i intend to keep/use for this connection.

Can anyone on 'Be' please post me the answer and any settings that i may need, that's if they also use their own routers etc?

Many thanks

I've found out apparently that it is possible using mac spoofing, so when i have to run the setup wizard for my netgear router i apparently have to insert my be box modems mac address. Hope this works

which router do they lock you into?

Alcatel/Thomson speedtouch 716v5 WL, it looks to be fairly good with extra ports on the rear. But i just want to keep to the hardware i already have, in the form of my trustworthy Netgear gear.

My line goes 'Live' tomorrow sometime, can't wait to get it setup :D

Just change your settings on your router to:

Connection Does NOT require login
Multiplexing Method: LLC
VCI: 0
VPI: 101

So am i correct in saying, that you don't have any details of your username password etc to type into the setup of the router?

lots of people say the be box is much better with ADSL2+ than the netgear ones, you will probably get better sync rate using it.

Ok thanks for this info, guess i'll have to try both then ;)
