i need a BE modem, i have a sky netgear router which some one told me is better because of broadcom chip. but i have to restart it daily, what other alternatives are there?
- Can you be more specific about why it requires a restart?
- Is the firmware up to date on the router you currently use? Either the manufacturer's f/w or third party.
- Do you just sit the router on the floor? If so try elevating it or standing it on its side for better cooling.
Not sure how likely you are to find a "Be modem" as all Be subscribers should keep hold of them for return should they terminate the service.
i got dg team firmweare on it, it need a restart becuase internet cuts off almost every day. i sit it on a table and i installed heatsinks on the cpu, ram and rom and broadcom chip, and they are very hot to the touch, i even cut a great big hole on top to increase ventilation.
- Have you already identified that heat build up is the root cause of the problem?
- Does the modem actually resync or is it just that you can't get internet access through it?
- Are you new on the Be network or have prior experience of a stable connection with the BeBox until you switched to the Sky router?
- Have you monitored the connection for interference with tools like Routerstats and DMT? You could also speak to Be and get them to monitor the line for a 24-hour period.
