be quiet 802: aio placement and hybrid 3090 placement

hi

have the case arriving tm for my new build.

i have a 360 mm AIO and a EVGA 3090 hybrid to put in it.

would the best placement be 360 in the front and gpu rad in the top?

thinking of best placement for air flow and aesthetics. i intend to use all the 140 mm fans inc in the case. no fans will be RGB.
 
That's something I've been considering as well for a future build - I've not seen any practical examples on this, however my thinking has been that the GPU is likely to be the hottest part (especially as the hybrid cards are typically as 240mm radiator) - so I think that is best to put on the top and the CPU AIO on the front, my thinking being that this will result in the temperature inside the case being lower overall and the hottest part is exhausted right out of the case.

In terms of the CPU and GPU themselves, I don't think it will make much difference (air comes in at 20c and exists at 50c, it will balance out between the two radiators), however for parts in the case that passively cool (MB chipset, etc), the lower internal temperature will benefit them.

Would certainly love to hear if anyone else has seen any proper tests to cover this scenario - going by most videos/articles relating to cooling people tend not to run 2 AIO cooler systems, at that point they just go with a proper water cooling loop.
 
i thought that yesterday at the pub. i think i will go with that. also, the amount of cool air coming in from the front would be good enough. i aim to underclock the GPU too as it'll be mined on as well as gamed. not much though, but would reduce temps also.
 
I’d say the reverse personally. You want the highest possible temp drop across a radiator for it to dump heat into air. If your gpu is the main heat source then give it the lowest incoming air temp you can.

The cpu is less likely to be working at full chat in games and the same for mining, so it’ll be generating less than the gpu, and so would need less of a temp drop across the radiator to shift the heat out.

As long as there is a flow of air across the motherboard in some form, you’ll likely be fine. A fan at the rear would do a decent enough job of drawing air across the CPU power areas and exhausting.
 
all built, i ended up with the 360 in the front with the 2 140s in the front too, blasting cool air in, aio up top, just fitted better. exhause 140 at back in place, gpu cooler exhausting out top. temps are good, nice and quiet too. the case is a joy to work in, 802, really is and bigger than i thought. opted for solid front and mesh top but might go mesh front too.
