Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W ATX2.2 Modular SLi Compliant PSU

Are they quiet? Anyone able to confirm this? I thought Corsair were top of the pile when it came to quiet PSU's?

Any decent brand 120mm cooled PSU run below 50%ish load will be quiet, most will be near inaudible next to the rest of the system.

Corsair are not top of the pile per sae but they are decent (except the 1000 watt model).

I wouldn't buy a Be Quiet! PSU myself:
Jenpo primary

No thanks.

Did you read that bit-tech review?
It got 10/10 for performance and 9/10 overall.
They highly recommended it the be-there PSU.
Are you are using it to.... ?

Reviews by nature don't test longevity. I'm not gonna touch a PSU that uses an OST primary, no matter how the rest is designed and performs.

Last-gen Antec PSUs populated with notorious Fuhjyyu use to review and perform decently too (and how many of those are in the scrap-heap now).

What about the Enermax Modu 82+ PSU's? Are they quiet / good?
Iv got one in my system (625w) and i like it, and think its pretty quiet (though its in an sg03 case and does have to do a bit more work). Had the older style model in my old setup and thought it was generally very quiet too (bigger atx build then)

What is an "OST primary" and what's so bad about it?

Care to suggest a PSU? :)

What's wrong with the Corsair 1000 & what would you recommend?
I was referring to the OPs comments on noise, it isn't quiet under heavy load. Decent PSU otherwise.

Do you know OST and have personal experience of them being bad? I don't really see your point.

Primary cap pictured is made by OST, they are one of the better bad cap manufacturers. Using them for a primary cap implies questionable quality (you'll usually see a Japanese brand such as Rubycon or Nichicon even if the secondary caps are China/Taiwan).

One of the signs of a quality PSU (or mobo) is the caps used but some have excellent engineering from the OEM with a poor cap choice. I don't think there are many desktop PSU manufacturers (or mobos for that matter) who haven't used bad caps at some point but using a quality brand shows a commitment to producing (or trying to produce) decent PSUs (I'm looking at you Corsair).
