Been with BE a while now & they're great.
Anyway, i'm moving out of home into my flat this weekend so ordered BE internet. Shortly afterwards I received this email:

Please note that your phone line has a system called DACS on it that prevents us from automatically moving you to our ludicrously fast broadband. But, our provisioning team will try to do it manually for you (please be little more patient with us as this process takes a little longer).

Then this morning I have get this one:

We're delighted to inform you that your order for Be has been accepted and your planned activation date is 22/08/07

Thats only Wednesday
Is it me or is 3 working days to remove my line from DACS and enable my internet better then any other company could offer :D

That's really good, I am going to be moving soon and I want Be for my new place. Nice to see they are keeping people's internet downtime to a minimum :)

BE frequently refer to DACS when there is in fact no DACS present only a previous ADSL tag on the line.

We placed an order end of last week and got activated yesterday, which I thought I was darn good too! BeBox arrived a couple of days early, pre-configured and connected up first go. I was a bit loathe to leave the top service from IDNet but BE Speeds are too tempting!

Meanwhile just need to get my DG834N configured and synching above 9.5meg :/

I can get BE in my area but would it be worth it?....currently im limited to a max of 3.5mb due to distance from the exchange.

Does anyone know if that would increase substantially?..or would the 3.5mb limit still kick in?.

i know 24mb is out of the question, but it would have to be 6mb + before id consider the hassle of swapping....

Give them a call and they can give you an estimate

Strange?

I'm currently with ADSL24 (and very happy I may add) out of interest I called to see what speeds I could expect on BE, the guy said 5mb - 7mb well I get (off certain sites) 8mb - 8.5mb and I'm always over 7mb every where else?

I would have thought I'd be getting around 10mb - 11mb speeds really?

they told me i would get 2mb at most, when i signed up im getting 6.5mb/1.1mb this is with an 59db att. was 56db before ADSL2+

very nice, well i move in a few months, and im looking for houses closer to the exchange aswell, good job thers a lot to choose from that are within 1KM, i know its sad, but i wouldnt be happy in the house without an half decent internet. :o

First thing i'd get if thinking about moving to a new house is the Post code..... :D so i can run all the line checks.

No fast internet...no sale.. :D

be told me I'd get 7-8mb, when infact I'm getting 22mb ;)

They just use straight line distance and underestimate.

OMG :) Nice speeds, my line sync is 8128 so I would hope for better speeds, may wait until next year and move over, current gaming pings on UK servers are approx 15 :D

What are they like on BE?

yep...but it is also practical, when you consider how digital content delivery from TV to downloadable games on Pc's and consoles is going to evolve over the coming years, unless your in a super fast area, your going to get left behind.

Anywhere from 11 - 18 on BE
All depends on the server company

i get 22ms pings to jolt.co.uk, thats with interleave 20ms on

without i would say about 11ms aswell

Hope you get good speeds. I wish Be* would unbundle my exchange. They were meant to do it earlier in the year but changed their minds :(
