Be There internet in my area

Hi,

I am pretty sure Be is available in my area. Im currentley on virgin media 10MB which will soon be 20MB but as they are traffic shaping and I like to download off newsgroups in peak times and download game demos ect not every day but abouut 2 - 3 days a week, being cut down to 5MB and paying £37 is very annoying so I would hopefully like to go to BE, I hear they are very good and good speeds depending how far from your exchange you are. Also im not sure if they throttle speeds at all? also could someone point me to a site where I can find how far away my nearest exchange is?

It depends on the quality of your line, there is no sureway to know this until you've been connected though

Bit of a gamble if you end up having a fud line which can't go above 5mb. on the other hand if you have a good line with 15-18meg then i believe be is a very good service. www.samknows is a good resource.

give Bethere a ring, they can usually give you an estimate of what speed you will recieve with your phone number.

im with bethere. Have been for about 2 months now. In that time i've had one night of outage,and in the mean time have had an 11 meg connection, completely free from traffic shaping or limits, with good pings. for £25 a month

cant rate them enough. Have a quick search for bethere, there's been a few threads on them.
