I'm currently on the Be Unlimited product and considering a switch to O2 Pro. Is this a pointless exercise or would there be some benefit to doing this? It looks like the O2 product has a few extra features.

PS - I'm thinking of PAC'ing my mobile service over to O2, so the price would be the same, unless of course anyone around here is still offering deals. It's been a while I know, so I doubt it.

Improved upload if you need it. A better router, £50 quidco cashback and UK based customer service.

Thats about it.

You do lose the ability of having an online ticket based customer service.

Losing online ticketing isn't such a bother if O2's CS is good. It's rare I need them but when I do it's nice to have a CS team that won't treat me like an idiot.

Router doesn't bother me as I'll stick with my Draytek. It can't go above 7.5Mbps with INP=2 (the default for Be* and probably O2), but I'm not getting more than 7.5Mbps from it anyway even with the 'fix'. Maybe someday I'll consider a 2820 which should get me an extra 2Mbps and give me the option to move to Cable.

Ticket be, and ask them to price match with o2. They should message/ring you back in a couple of hours, with a reduced price.

I'm now paying £12 a month for be pro, with static ip etc. I have no doubt they would do unlimited, for the same price if I asked.

I called "Be" a month or so ago and said I wanted to cancel, gave me Be unlimited for £12 straight away......

14 down 1.2 up for me!

I'm happy :)

Read my mind. I rang cancellations asking for my three months notice as I was off to O2. £12 offer came back there and then. I probably wouldn't have used the O2 extras anyway and I'll soon make up that £50 Quidco. :)

I take it they kept you on the unlimited package?

As about 6 months ago I rand to downgrade mine to pro, which they did on pricing but they never altered the speed.

Think you might have your packages mixed up. The order (in performance terms) at Be is:

Pro > Unlimited > Value

And at O2 is:

Pro > Premium > Standard > Access

And yes, I was on Unlimited and I'm still there.

Yes I have it's their new confusing website:D ;)

I was on pro and asked to be downgraded, as I was not using the extra. so they lowered the price, but did nothing to the connection.

Then I asked if they price matched o2, and they said they would. So they reduced it even further.

I thought O2 owned BE, so your getting your service from the same company?
I only switched to O2 as I get it cheap for being a mobile customer.
