Do you use the one they send you or the one you had before you joined Be* ?

EDIT: I'm due to go live tomorrow, but dont know if I should use the BeBox or my 834G, as I heard there's some open port issues with the BeBox

Ive used the bebox from day one and not had any problems with it including opening ports. Just use that when you first get activated and then if you have any problems just switch over to your other modem.

I'll be using my Billion 7300a.

Can you use something like the DMT tool or something like that on this modem to lower the SNR?

Also do you find this to be more stable than the Bebox as ive seen a few people now using this modem on Be* connections.

Personally I find the Bebox (780) fine. I tried a DG834GT for a week but it was awful imo and since going back to the 780 my connections been rock solid.

Cheers guys, I'll see how the BeBox goes then switch over to the Netgear if I'm not happy with it.

i had the netgear same as you mate, but now i am using the bebox

by the way the netgear you have does not rearly support adsl2+ properly(its a bit pants)

only been connected for 2 days but i am syncing at 13.5mb so i am happy, the bebox takes a bit of getting used to with the different interface but its not to bad once you get in to it.

also look in to the forums, and all the different stuff you can do to your box like not using be's dns servers and the cli commands to tweak you box for better security

www.dontbethere.co.uk as well are there forums are very helpfull

I've found the supplied speedtouch 780 is awful. It overheats, has poor UI (although the CLI is nice) only has 2-3 of the 4 lan ports available and wireless performance isn't great.

Netgear DG834GT is a better choice overall, with much better wireless and supports ADSL 2+ ok

I thought that only applied to the v2? As I'm led to belive that the v3 does support adsl2+ fully?

Cheers for the other info btw.

You see this is the problem..........Some people say their own routers are better and some say the BeBox lol.

Best thing to do is try the Bebox for a week or two and see how you get on. If you think it's pants then try something else but there's no point getting another router before you know how the Bebox will perform for you.

Zyxel 660HW, with lattest firmware even support's Annex M (2Mb upload) for the be pro package.

Brilliant little router, much better then the speed touch which had problems crashing (on two routers) when setting up port forwarding for SIP.
