Hi all,
I'm trying to pick out a decent ADSL2 broadband provider, that will offer the best upload speed possible, and won't grumble about me running a commercial data server on the line. I've spoken to both Be* and UKOnline, and both reckon it's fine to do want I want with the line as long as isn't illegal (which it isn't).

Which is going to be the best for our needs, or are there any other people to look at?

Matt

If the data server needs commercial levels of up-time and availability then I would seriously consider either a co-lo or a rented dedicated server before trying to run it on the end of an ADSL2+ line.

Doesn't matter how good your broadband provider is you just can't rely on ADSL to provide constant availability.

I have a BE connection and it is great, but I'd never run an important business server on the end of it.

BE's PRO package has come down in price to £22 a month, thats with a stonking 2.5 meg upload.

So if its a toss up between those two, the choice is made for you....BE!

Remember that is 'up to 2.5Mb' depending on line quality and that it does hit your download speed by 2-3Mb to get the increase, hard to beat it though if you need the upload more than you'll miss the lost download speed.
