Bear neccesities

Hi all i frequent the forum a bit but dont really post much. I was practicing using potatoshop so thought i'd post a couple of closeup pics for comments & criticism, its the only way i'm gonna learn.

number 2 is good, #1 looks out of focus and did u use the flash or something? It looks kinda offish I can;t explain it properly.

The 2nd is very nice, the background has a nice range of colours, the upper left is a little too busy for my liking though, I know its not an easy kind of shot to setup for though.

I feel the 1st would look better if the background was desaturated to gray though to give a sort of slate look, that way the bear would stand out more, as it blends in too much at the moment.
