Has anyone listened to this? I'm a big Beatles fan and I'm not if I should get this or not. I've heard pretty much every song on Love but they've all been remixed. This leaves me wondering if I should get this or leave it?

If anyone has this or has asked for it for Xmas could they please explain why they've got/asked for it? My aunt normally gets me a CD every year for Xmas and I'd like to know if I should ask for this or not.

Many thanks in advance. :)

I'm a huge Beatles fan and I'll be getting it. I was unsure at first, probably for the same reasons as you, but the fact that George Martin is involved and it sounds more like a medley piece has made me eager to get it for Christmas. I'm equally curious and excited about it in fact. Should be good.

Thanks Belmit. A mate of mine bought it yesterday to give to his dad for Xmas and he thinks it is quite good. The fact that George Martin worked on it also made me more confident that it would be worth getting.

Spose I'll be asking my aunt for this then.:)

You can listen to the whole thing here. You have to give them a name and email address though.

I bought it on the strength of what I heard there -- mainly for the clarity of the sound, which is much better than the original releases. There are a few interesting mash-ups, and a few of the songs have been altered from their original state (e.g. While My Guitar Gently Weeps has a new string accompaniment and extra verse, Strawberry Fields Forever is based on the less upbeat demo version, etc).

Cheers. I've registered and I'm listening now.:)

I enjoyed the album but I saw the show a couple of months ago, show is amazing and listening to the soundtrack brings it all back

I think that it's an excellent new take on some classic Beatles songs. I haven't seen the show yet but based on listening to the album alone, I think I'd like to.

I've listened to every song so much that every single quirk and mistake is imprinted in my mind... It'd be so weird to hear alternative recordings in the same way that "Let it be... naked" took some getting used to.

That being said, I love this version of Strawberry Fields Forever, the takes recorded beforehand featured on Anthology were quite interesting.
