Hey all,

I've had my set of Beats X earphones for a good while now, and had no issues. I've treated them well, so I don't think it's down to misuse - But the right side earphone has completely stopped working.

I've tried resetting the earphones, I've connected them to the Beats Updater, and they're on the latest firmware.

Can't think of anything else to try, and I wondered if anyone else had come across this issue (a quick google search actually found a lot of people have had the same issue - In the right ear too :()?

I went on Apple Support chat and they offered a replacement pair for £86.44 + Shipping. Not sure whether to go for it or not.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Marky

Where did you buy them?
Always buy beats directly from Apple as they can cover the second year under Consumer Law (and do so without much questioning) as long as there’s no damage

I bought them direct from Apple in February 2017. The guy that I spoke with in chat said they were out of the warranty period, so I would have to pay for a repair (but he later admitted that they would be replaced, not repaired).

Visit a store.
Online can’t position consumer law anymore - it can only be done via an Apple store (to cut down the amount of depot reclassifications - cosmetic condition is important with consumer law and can’t be checked properly via photos).
Just state in the store you were positioned coverage in the second year via consumer law at the time of purchase (should be offered anyway but just in case you get a new technician) and as long as there is no damage it should be sent away for free replacement

Sweet! I'll definitely give it a try! Thanks a lot :)
