My bebox often randomly disconnects/restarts. This happens every time I start xfire too. What alternatives should I go with?

NETGEAR DG834N had one i took it back as warrenty was nearly up Hehe. but, i replaced it with Belkin N1 Vision Although has better secruity and looks nicer.... It losses my connection lot more but the funny thing is, i lose connection to CSS/WMP but hit play and carrys on.

so my nets not disconnected :/

id go for DG834N Again, i got Max Signal 130 Footaway to full 130mbps my Belkin also does this but dropps

I'd recommend a Netgear DG834GT. I'm using one on O2 Broadband which is the same as Be, and it's great.

You can get a Sky branded one very cheap from auction sites. Then put on DGTeam firmware and it's a rock solid router.

I have been with BE for a few months and my box cuts out now and then as well, I always assumed it was a dodgy line on my side of things, might replace it and see what happens.

Are there any specific DNS servers which I should set it to use? I get connection problems (slow speeds) after about 8.30, yet my signal strength is excellent and router status page says

ADSL Link | Downstream | Upstream
Connection Speed | 2490 kbps | 767 kbps
Line Attenuation | 70.5 db | 40.3 db
Noise Margin | 3.8 db | 5.2 db

(Note I am on a 2mb line)

Oh my, this OpenDNS thing is pretty good!

'Slow speeds' = Taking a long time to connect to a site, and then even longer to start loading it up. This also means high pings in games. It is not frequent, but is quite sudden. It might be spyware on the other computer. I'll check it out soon.

Yeh I think my wording was misleading. I know DNS doesn't affect speeds, but I wondered if I should set specific DNS servers for BeThere.
