Bed frame for heavy persons

I've broken two of these in the past and I hover between 18-20st. The steel beam eventually rips through the chipboard ends.

Interesting. We're on our second one, but only because we moved from a standard double to a king. Never had issues with either.

I suppose you could offer extra support to the beam (maybe with those Argos catalogues mentioned above :) ). But maybe better to get a more naturally heavy-duty bed.

Where is the OP going to sleep for those 6 months?

Mattress can go on the floor as a temporary measure. As I said before, anything can be used to support a mattress. Bricks even, so why not a floor? It's the mattress that provides the cushioning not the frame all that does is provide support. So his floor should support mattress without any issues. However depending on how big he is may have issues getting up from the floor.

He could therefore get pallets or wood for free off gumtree and build a basic base if that is an issue to support the mattress at a comfortable height.

Plenty of people sleep on inflatable beds on floors or in sleeping bags in tents out camping, so as a temporary measure it's fine, in fact you could do it permanently without issues.

My issue isnt junk food its lack of exercise while being in the house all the time due to things i wont go into here. So just because someone is big doesnt mean they eat takeaways or donuts all the time, i eat mainly salad and veg for my meals. Also for about 6 months or so just water to drink as gone right off coffee and tea etc. Also i said near the top of this topic, just discuss places to buy beds i.e links to offers for strong beds or somit, nothing more thanks.
