This may be the new corner sofa chav test but I’m sick of clutter in my bedroom and I’m in need of a new bed. I’ve got no where to wall mount a tv so a bed with a rise up tv would be ideal. Has anyone got one? I’ve had a look in Dreams when I was passing but any other recommendations to check out?

Get some of those stupid platitude stickers for above your bed like ‘sweet dreams’ or ‘sleeping princes’ - you know the ones - you get them in all the chavvy shops.

Then and only then are you qualified for a rise up bed tv.

Had one years ago, would not recommend. How about cantilever tv arm to the ceiling ?

We just don't have a TV in the bedroom... but I did consider one in the past.

Just out of interest, why wouldn't you recommend them? Apart from being chavvy as hell they do seem like a bit of a space saver if the room doesn't fit a TV otherwise.

When lying in bed I want the TV on the wall, surely these rise up TVs just cause neck ache as well as looking really tacky.

How have you got no where to wall mount a TV?, or are you saying its a rented property?

Well the wife (gf at the time) had one when we met, and I didn't like it because:
It made the bedframe unecessarily large, whilst still only being a double, dominating the room a bit.
The 'sleigh' bedframe design sucks if you are 5'10" or taller as your feet hit the bottom.
The motorised mount broke 3 times and had to be repaired.
The one she had needed to be manually controlled when raising the mount, and I didn't know it had to be stopped and it went too high and ripped the whole aerial socket out of the TV, haha.

Haha some interesting comments thanks. I might get some of that really cool wall art mentioned above and see how comfortable I feel on the chav scale first!

No, not rented but because of mirrors and wardrobes and the way the ensuite is situated there just isnt a wall to mount it on.

Maybe a projector is a better option...

i know someone who has one. they are stupidly expensive and the tv you get is crap. i'd rather buy a decent tv and wall mount. failing that projector with a pull down screen. failing that buy a bigger house.
