Since I am nearly half way into my 3-4 weeks wait for my new mattress I thought I would shop about but all I seem to find in person is rubbish, I want Valance for bottom sheet and Flat sheet for top, flat sheets is not where I am having the most problem its Valance sheets, everyone seems to only stock in town fitted sheets.

Since I am going to end up buying online and the last time I bought any sheets was 5+ years ago can anybody recommend a consistently decent brand, was looking to get some decent stuff 4-600 thread count sheets.

Loads on Amazon and some online retailers don't even stock Valance sheets (Matalan was main one I noticed) they have 56 different fitted sheets and 1 flat sheet which has footballs on it.

I've slept on some very nice bedding in my life. We buy the panda bedding from pandalondon.com. Highly recommended.

Im all set for Duvet/pillow cases, still got a nice one I bought a few years ago, its mainly trying to nab some valance sheets, single valances and double flat sheets (for some wiggle room on a single mattress)

@radderfire I checked out that "La Redoute" but all their valances seem to be for bed bases, only reason I hate fitted sheets is they kept coming off at the corners when I was in bed somehow and the middle was easy to arc up to mattress but with valance sheets they fit nice and snug and you can even tuck in the excess under the mattress.

If double sheets were enough to go under mattress at the top and bottom id just pick a load of those up, mattress im getting is 27cm deep.

You can get deep fitted sheets, this one is up to 36cm, for example: https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewi...n-800-thread-count-deep-fitted-sheet/p3923342

If you filter at the side you can get 30cm, 36cm and 40cm

If the valance is purely to hide a divan base, then it doesn't matter what material it is, really:

We have a superking Sealy Elevate Ultra Daito, plus my Aero pad (to prevent pressure sores), which makes our 30cm deep bedsheets pop off on my side.

We bought three 1000 thread, 40cm deep fitted sheets (White, Silver/Grey and Navy) from Next during a Boxing Day sale a couple of years ago, £29 each.

They're usually £75, so it's worth waiting for a bargain. Ours get changed weekly, then washed at 60°C. No need to iron if you know how to fold fitted sheets properly ;) They've lasted really well and still as comfortable as the day went bought them.

Can also recommend the following to keep sheets in place: https://amzn.eu/d/2wVL0RY

oooooooooo nice, ill keep an eye out for an offer then and hold out with what I got for now, the reason for that thing to keep them in place is the one reason I had avoided them in the first place, shouldn't really be needed lol

Going through and bookmarking what I like the look of and will keep checking every day :)

I found fitted sheets stayed in place better when we had a smaller (EU Double) bed, with a 25CM deep mattress, as I was able to tuck more of the sheet right under. We upgraded to a Super king when our 3rd child was born (7 years ago), so we could have Saturday mornings when all three got in, without one of us falling out the bed.
The much deeper, heavier mattress I found far harder to tuck the bedsheet under, so it inevitably pings off one side or the other. The straps do make a big difference - just be careful there's not too much tension in the elastic or they tend to ping off when you get into bed.
