Hi,
Got a garage going in soon which is a 44mm log cabin style:

And it's going to need treating. My dad swears by Bedec barn paint, and their summer house does look great after a couple of years. However I do see a lot of recommendations that to 'paint' a log cabin or shed, you really want an opaque stain that soaks in.
Anyone used Bedec barn paint? Although it's a paint it does seem to get positive feedback from lots of people - I'm just slightly concerned that it's described as a paint.
Due to cost I'm ideally looking for something that doesn't need a separate treatment underneath and apparently with Bedec you just water down the first coat.
I was also looking at Osmo Country Colour which again gets good feedback but is significantly more expensive. I'm not aiming to scrimp as such as I do want to protect the garage appropriately, however the cheapest appropriate product (opaque, nice colours, good protection) is really what I'm after.
Any experience or other recommendations would be really welcome. Cheers
