Following on from my previous thread here, I present to you pretty much the same kit but in my bigger new room!

I've moved flat and now have a great sized room with a section about 13'x9' section which is pretty much clear of furniture/beds etc. So I sort of dedicate the middle of the room.

Here it is at it stands currently.

Kit List:

2.4m Blackout Blind as a screen
Sanyo PLV-Z3 Projector (£330 2nd hand , ~2 years ago now!)
Yamaha DSP-AX861SE AV Receiver (£230 end of line, brand new. HD-Audio over LPCM from the PS3)
Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo 3B Surround set (£175 2nd hand , month or so ago. Biggest bargain yet I feel, mint condition and included stands etc!)
PS3
360x2 (One for Live, the other for errrm, stuff ) +HD-DVD
4tb HTPC

Pics: Excuse the quality, crappy low lighting + crap camera phone for the lose.

Front, with the grilles off for the glam shots

Seating, nicked the sofa from the lounge. Housemates don't mind too much right now, but I'll be getting my own hopefully around christmas time.

The picture quality is on its way out, the projectors old and the bulbs on its last legs. It still manages a very accurate image, but lacks the punch it once had. Its using the 'Z3.5' settings from a brilliant thread on avforums, that calibrate it to 6500k +/- 150, this is without addon filters (could never track them down, I came late the toe Z3 brigade).

The whole setup has been done on a student budget, accrueing items over time but it serves me very nicely.

I'm starting an internship at Broadcom in september (Working on SKY stb's and dlna tv's :p) so will have some dollar for upgrades by Christmas with any luck. First up is a proper screen, will either build a 2.35:1 fixed frame or morelikely get a drop down draper/drh/panoview. Because I'm in rented accomodation (student at that) you basically can't do anything to the rooms without losing your deposit, so I think a drop down will be a bit more stealth to cover up when I leave. At the same time as the screen will be a nice shiny new 1080p projector. Looking like the Mitsi HC5500 at the moment, but I'm sure the market will be different by the time I get the funds.

Comments and criticism please!

Unfortunately the fronts are as wide as they can go, the door to the room is just to the right of the right speaker. They are about 7 feet wide, which works fine for my viewing distance with a bit of toe in. Everything looks a bit weird in the photos I have to say, hard to see the scale. The screen is 108" diagonal.

Why would I lose the rears!? Surround sound needs em? The placement is fine (90-110 degrees of you and the centre) and the effect is bang on.
